In the late 1990s, a massive wave of layoffs occurred in Northeast China, with women being particularly affected. Many women heard they could make money as nannies in France, so they took on huge debts to go abroad. Upon arriving in Paris, they found no way to survive and had to resort to "street work." Belgian director Olivier偶然 encountered them, conducted long-term investigations, and enlisted Wang Xiaoshuai as a producer to create the film "Going Down."
