This film is adapted from Robert Harris's international bestseller. In the autumn of 1938, Europe stands on the brink of war. Adolf Hitler is preparing to invade Czechoslovakia, and the Neville Chamberlain government is desperately seeking a peaceful solution. As tensions rise, British civil servant Hugh Legat and German diplomat Paul von Hartmann travel to Munich for an emergency meeting. As negotiations begin, the two old friends find themselves ensnared in a web of political machinations, facing extraordinary danger. With the whole world watching, can war be avoided? If so, what price must be paid?
