After the Battle of Liuhe Tower, Qianlong used the Red Flower Society to eliminate dissidents and firmly grasped the power of the court. The leader of the Red Flower Society, Chen Jialuo, went to the Wei Region alone, missing Huo Qingtong, and encountered Princess Xiangxiang, who was deeply in love with him. Qingtong, who loved Jialuo dearly, had to keep her feelings hidden. After Jialuo returned to the capital, the Qing army heavily invaded the region, Mu Zhuolun was killed, and Qingtong went missing, while Princess Xiangxiang was captured and presented to Qianlong. Qianlong deceived Jialuo into persuading Princess Xiangxiang to obey him, secretly planning to capture all the leaders of the Red Flower Society. Princess Xiangxiang ardently supported Jialuo's anti-Qing cause and was willing to sacrifice herself; upon discovering the conspiracy, she committed suicide. Qianlong set an ambush that resulted in the demise of all the leaders of the Red Flower Society, with only Jialuo managing to escape. Seeking revenge, he returned to the Wei Region.
