In a bustling corner of the city, a single woman named Jeong-ya (played by Kong Seung-yeon) lives alone. She works as a call center operator at a company, handling customer inquiries and complaints daily, and regardless of whether the other party is emotional, she must not show any personal feelings. After work, she returns home alone; although she rents an apartment, she seldom communicates with her landlord or neighbors, maintaining a significant distance between them. One day, her lifeless existence begins to stir when a neighbor, who was merely an acquaintance, is found dead in their home after several days. This makes Jeong-ya feel as if she is looking at her own fate. Meanwhile, her company assigns her to supervise an intern. The intern, just starting out, is full of curiosity about everything. However, Jeong-ya, accustomed to being alone, deliberately keeps her distance from this newcomer and even shows obvious resistance and dislike toward them.
