Being exceptionally intelligent is not always a good thing, and young Werther (6 years old, played by Fabrizio Borsani; 12 years old, played by Teo Gheorghiu) deeply understands this. Werther has the potential to become a great figure in any field, as his parents always hope he will become a great pianist; however, he himself is unsure about what to do in the future. Under his parents' pressure, Werther is often melancholic. Fortunately, he has a grandfather who understands him. Like Werther, the grandfather is ambitious and dreamt of becoming a pilot since childhood, but ultimately became a carpenter. When the grandfather finally flies like a bird, he tells Werther that although he spent his life as a carpenter, he is still very happy, because ideals are just a part of life; what one should do in life is to bravely go with the flow of destiny. The grandfather passes away happily in the end. Werther finally comprehends the true meaning of his grandfather's life and knocks on the door of the female pianist he had previously rejected…
