Jiang Dayang, the chairman of the Long Distance Group, decides to leave his inheritance to his daughter, whom he has owed for many years, upon discovering he is in the late stage of cancer. He reveals this news to his old friend Uncle Gang (played by Zhang Shaogang), only to inadvertently bring about his own calamity. The unexpected death of her father is a significant blow to Jiang Xin (played by Peng Gaochang). To pay off debts associated with her father, Jiang Xin sells all her assets, leaving only the villa where she lives. In order to make a living, she decides to rent out the villa.
