In a small town 20 miles west of Washington, D.C., farmer Tom (Charlie Sheen) discovers crop circles in his field. Local journalist Cindy (Anna Faris) takes a keen interest in the news and investigates despite opposition from higher authorities. Tom's brother George (Simon Rex), obsessed with hip-hop music and indifferent to farming, adds to Tom's troubles. After the crop circles appear, the children in the town start exhibiting strange behaviors. Cindy's friend Brenda mysteriously dies after watching a videotape, and Cindy receives a mysterious phone call announcing that she will die in seven days. Helpless, Cindy turns to George for help, leading her to meet a Black prophet, from whom she learns that the source of the strange occurrences is related to a lighthouse. Meanwhile, Cindy broadcasts a warning on television about the potential arrival of aliens, prompting even the President of the United States (Leslie Nielsen) to take the matter seriously…
