Young Eddie (played by Donnie Yen) is obsessed with breakdancing, and his every move in life must be in sync with the rhythm of dance. His older sister Ah Ying is still single at her age, and his cousin Sihara (played by Lam Wai) helps Ah Ying manage the fast-food restaurant while secretly having a crush on Eddie. One day, Eddie encounters the down-and-out martial artist Big Eye Brother (played by Yuen Wah), impressed by his skills, and invites him to work at his family's restaurant. Kenny, a breakdancing expert, returns to Hong Kong and showers Eddie's classmate Anna with attention. The hot-headed Eddie engages in a continuous series of dance battles with Kenny, showcasing various moves, from obvious to subtle, including tennis street dancing. Meanwhile, the relationship between Big Eye Brother and Ah Ying, both single and mature, quietly develops. Although Eddie wins in the dance battles against Kenny, Sihara becomes jealous.
