A group of Somali pirates hijacks the Danish cargo ship "Rosen," sailing in the Indian Ocean on a clear day. The pirates are fearless, as time is a Western concept; they only care about the ransom. The CEO of the company that owns "Rosen" is a master negotiator who decides to engage directly with the pirates, with the only emphasis being to remain calm. The problem is, no shipping school in the world has ever taught students how to deal with pirates, and remaining calm in the sweltering cabin is not an option. The film unfolds through two storylines: one focuses on the ship's cook, Mikkel, and the other on the CEO, Peter, negotiating with the pirates in the company office in Denmark.
