In the tropical forests of Kenya, Joy witnesses a variety of exotic animals, and these vibrant lives deeply attract her. She decisively divorces her husband and marries George (played by Bill Travers), the local hunting warden, and thus stays on this magical land. One day, while on patrol, George is attacked by a lioness. To save his life, George has to shoot the lioness. Afterwards, he discovers that the lioness left behind three orphaned cubs. George takes two of the healthier ones to the zoo and leaves the weakest one for Joy to care for. The couple names it Elsa, and thus, Elsa becomes their true child.
