This film is based on a true story. 23-year-old Tak Chai (played by Xu Tianyou) lives with his alcoholic mother (played by Hui Yinghong). Aside from helping in his mother's small grocery store, Tak Chai spends his days idling and starts a romantic relationship with 15-year-old Ying (played by Huang Minghui), a girl from a nearby high school, which leads to sexual relations. The affair between Tak Chai and Ying is discovered by Ying's parents, who become furious and demand a large sum of money from Tak Chai's mother, threatening to sue Tak Chai. The weak and panicked Tak Chai, along with his anxious mother, seeks help from Tak Chai's divorced father for money but still cannot persuade Ying's parents to drop the lawsuit. In a desperate attempt, Tak Chai and two friends arrange to meet Ying and her friend in the countryside for negotiations, but an argument leads to murder. With nothing left, how will the mother confront the disastrous situation her son has created? The film won Best Actress at the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards, the Asian Film Awards, and the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards (Hui Yinghong).
