The story takes place in a dilapidated old apartment building where a boy named Charlie (played by Jules Benchetrit) has a new neighbor named Jeanne (played by Isabelle Huppert), who was once a famous actress but is now past her prime. Charlie decides to help Jeanne secure a role that is very important to her. One day, an astronaut named John (played by Michael Pitt) accidentally lands on the roof of the apartment due to an orbital calculation error and knocks on the door of an elderly woman named Hamida (played by Tassadit Mandi), beginning a wonderful three-day cohabitation. A lonely man, Berkowitz (played by Gustave de Kervern), ends up in a wheelchair due to an accident and encounters a nurse (played by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) who is smoking and taking a break while shopping.
