Michael (played by Andy Garcia) and Alice (played by Meg Ryan) have a spacious apartment, lovely children, and their life should be filled with happiness. However, Alice’s habit of heavy drinking becomes a hidden danger to their happiness, as she violently lashes out at their daughter when drunk. She realizes her problem and desperately tries to correct it, so she checks into a rehabilitation center specifically for alcohol addiction. But when Michael sees his wife interacting joyfully with others in the rehab center, he suddenly feels a sense of loss, as if he no longer holds any importance in Alice's heart. Alice successfully overcomes her alcohol problem and her personality changes significantly, becoming much gentler than before. However, she continues to socialize with friends she met at the rehab center, which angers Michael. In a fit of rage, Michael leaves the home he shares with Alice. When the two reunite, Alice warmly invites him to her home for her rehabilitation progress report. On the day of the report, Michael realizes how much damage his actions have done to Alice…
