Drug dealer Chris's wife takes three million dollars and their son to escape. During his search for his wife's whereabouts, Chris kills an informant. This murder case gives detective John Kimble (Arnold Schwarzenegger) a long-awaited chance to arrest Chris, but to get Chris to confess, Kimble must find his wife as an important witness. The police have limited leads, so Kimble and his female colleague go to a small town, going undercover as teachers to find Chris's son who attends kindergarten. When his female colleague falls ill, Kimble has to take on the responsibility alone and deal with a group of very unruly children. Sparks fly between Kimble and fellow teacher Joyce (Penelope Ann Miller). Kimble's teaching career gradually takes off, but just then, the identity of Chris's wife and son comes to light, surprising Kimble...
