Chen Meili is a grandmother (in Taiwanese, meaning grandmother) with four grandchildren, and she is the backbone of a ten-person family. Beneath her frugal nature lies some helplessness about life; she must support this large family with her not-so-ample shoulders, preparing the New Year’s Eve dinner while eagerly waiting for her children to come home for a reunion. Her eldest son, Jin Long, works in Chongqing on the mainland and has made many friends. He has caused various comical incidents and feels deeply apologetic for his lack of attention to his wife and children. His wife, Zhi Lan, suspects that he has someone outside, putting their relationship in a serious crisis. Unexpectedly, after experiencing emotional ups and downs, Jin Long is touched by his children, Bing Bing and Qing Qing, and they return to the starting point of their relationship, with the children regaining both a father and a mother, truly becoming Grandma’s obedient kids! Jin Peng, the second son, is carefree and only after continuous urging from Grandma to get married does he finally bring home a woman older than him, Yu Ye, during the New Year’s Eve dinner. Just when they thought everything would be peaceful, Jin Peng suddenly goes missing, leaving Yu Ye feeling very disheartened. However, Grandma assures her that no matter what, she is still their daughter-in-law and forever part of the family, happily embracing Yu Ye. Xi Duo is a pure girl who, through WeChat communication, unexpectedly encounters a humorous person named Xi Pi. Among them is someone who has had a secret crush on her for a long time: Ou Ya Jun, a typical Chongqing man—straightforward, humorous, and very passionate and brave. He is an embodiment of mainland men who dare to love and hate. An unfortunate car accident occurs involving him… but beautiful love surrounds him at the same time. Looking at Ou Ya Jun, Xi Duo is filled with guilt and affection. She rushes into his arms, tightly embracing Ou Ya Jun, who is in a wheelchair, and they ultimately find happiness together. The New Year’s Eve dinner, originally meant to be a joyful gathering, finds everyone harboring their inner troubles. Grandma’s heartfelt efforts move everyone; her optimistic and positive attitude constantly influences her children, and eventually, this comical family finds their way back on track, ultimately achieving their own happiness through sincere efforts. A very awkward yet joyful happiness is gradually approaching!
