Lao Jing Wang (played by Ni Dahong) has spent most of his life underground in the mines, accumulating rich experience and is a well-respected veteran in the industry. He has trained a group of excellent and brave apprentices, earning the trust and affection of his peers. Just as he is about to retire and enjoy his golden years, the coal boss informs him that he must conduct one last blasting operation underground. Little did he know that this final task would bring the greatest crisis of his career.
Accompanied by his apprentices, including Xiao Guangxi (played by Chen Xiaodong), Lao Jing Wang and his team venture deep underground. Unexpectedly, during the blasting, an accident occurs, causing the mine to collapse and cutting off their way back. The mining disaster quickly attracts media attention, and the families of the trapped miners begin to gather rapidly. Above ground, tests of humanity unfold one after another, while below, Lao Jing Wang and the surviving miners desperately search for a way out.
