The story picks up right where the last episode left off. The adorable female dolphin Winter has now become a nationally recognized star in the United States. Together with her little owner Sawyer (played by Nathan Gamble) and caretaker Dr. Cameron (played by Morgan Freeman), Winter has made a home at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, occasionally putting on joyful performances that earn the admiration and applause of the audience. Just when they thought the past troubles were behind them and life would continue beautifully, a new regulation issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture throws Sawyer and his group into distress. According to the regulation, Winter can only remain at the aquarium if she finds a companion; otherwise, she will be returned to the ocean to live in the wild. Thus, Dr. Cameron begins the challenging task of finding a "match" for Winter, a task that proves to be more difficult than anticipated.
