Due to the war, Angus McMorrow (played by Alex Etel) has his father deployed to the battlefield. He lives with his mother and sister, and he shares a deep bond with his father, eagerly anticipating his return home every day. Angus loves the vast ocean but is afraid to swim. One day at the beach, he discovers a strange stone, which turns out to be an egg. When a bizarre reptile appears before Angus, he is utterly astonished. He names the creature "Cruzo," and despite being mischievous, Cruzo obeys Angus well. Angus treats Cruzo as his friend and takes great care of him, but as Cruzo grows larger, Angus fears that his mother will make him give up Cruzo. At this time, their large house is requisitioned by the military as a shelter, and Angus must be more cautious. However, due to Cruzo's mischief, many absurd events occur. Fortunately, Angus has the help of the male servant Lewis, and they place the increasingly large Cruzo into Loch Ness. Angus often runs off to play with Cruzo and, for the first time, dives underwater guided by Cruzo. But life has its undercurrents; locals begin to discover Cruzo's existence, hoping to gain fame from it. Even the military residing in Angus's home mistakenly believes that the giant Cruzo is an enemy submarine, attacking the poor creature, prompting Angus to desperately rescue him.
