In an acting family, the eldest sister Hannah (Mia Farrow) has a husband, the agent Elliott (Michael Caine), who is infatuated with her younger sister Lee (Barbara Hershey). The second sister Holly (Dianne Wiest) has kicked her drug habit but is struggling with financial difficulties and is considering ways to make money.
