This film is a mix of animation and live-action, telling the adventure story of siblings Mara (voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy) and Charlie (voiced by Gabriel Bateman). When Charlie unexpectedly disappears into the animated universe of Moby World, Mara must find him and bring him back. In the process, she meets new companions—a food truck driver Dale (voiced by Jim Gaffigan), the suave and handsome agent Rex Dash (voiced by Daniel Radcliffe), a loyal robot, and a fairy godmother (voiced by Megan Trainor). Adam Lambert voices the main villain, Emperor Maximus.
