The son of a major conglomerate, Hisashi Kumiki (played by Kunihiro Murai), is informed by his father that his purpose in this world is to be shaped into the ultimate embodiment of evil capable of causing great disaster. In order to facilitate his son's transformation, the wicked father even resorts to tarnishing the boy's first love, Kaori. In a moment of crisis, the young boy kills his father and goes missing. Years later, the grown-up Hisashi (played by Hiroki Tamaki) takes on a new identity as Koichi Nitani and begins a new life. He goes to great lengths to find Kaori (played by Yuko Araki) and stays close to her, willing to kill again to protect her. Before long, his half-brother, Ganyan Kumiki (played by Tatsuya Nakamura), who knows about Koichi's past, collaborates with terrorist Ryozo Ito (played by Ryo Yoshizawa), setting their sights on Kaori. Koichi must confront his past and dark fate... This film is adapted from the award-winning novel of the same name by literary prize winner Fumimaru Nakamura.
