It's another summer vacation, and Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) has successfully completed seventh grade. He has a plan: first, play video games all day, then take some time to work on his relationship with Holly Hills (Peyton List). Of course, his sports-loving dad Frank (Steve Zahn) does not agree with his lazy plan. Unable to stand his parents' various summer activities, Greg and his best friend Rowley Jefferson (Robert Capron) join a country club, and to his surprise, Holly is there too, along with the strong-willed Patty (Laine MacNeil). Soon after, when his lies are exposed, Greg is forced to deal with his older brother Rodrick (Devon Bostick), resulting in plenty of laughs. Juggling between a wilderness training camp and the country club, the last summer of middle school begins... This film is adapted from the bestselling children's book series by American author Jeff Kinney.
