The disheveled middle-aged uncle Yoshida Ryota (played by Abe Hiroshi) is a private detective who debuted as a writer in his early years, but since his first work, he hasn’t produced any noteworthy pieces. He is filled with grievances, has a high opinion of himself, and refuses to create "soulless" works for money. In real life, he worries about money everywhere, and once he has some, he quickly throws it into the casino without any hope. His mother, Yoshiko (played by Kiki Kirin), lives alone in a housing complex, and in the eyes of the elderly, even the worst son has incomparable merits. Ryota originally had a happy family, but his ex-wife Shirashi Kyoko (played by Maki Yoko) could no longer tolerate his behavior and moved on with their son Shingo (played by Yoshizawa Taiyo) after the divorce.
