The Golden Wheel King's consort (Ye Yuqing) has an affair with her cousin Ouyang Feng (Tony Leung) in a bid to seize the throne. They poison the king but fail to find the imperial jade seal. Upon learning that the seal is in the hands of the Third Princess (Brigitte Lin), who is seeking help from her master in Jiugong Mountain, Ouyang Feng attempts to seize it but is unsuccessful. The confused national master (Maggie Cheung) succumbs to pressure and reveals the Third Princess's whereabouts. Ouyang Feng chases her in his rocket golden boots but accidentally knocks down Wang Chongyang (Chung Chao-Tung), who just left his seclusion. Fatally wounded, Wang Chongyang implores the passing Third Princess to find his junior brother Zhou Botong (Carina Lau) to take revenge.
