"On the journey of life, why is it always one step behind?" The Yokoyama family, located in a remote small town, leads a peaceful and harmonious life. The father, Yoshinobu (played by Yoshio Harada), is a retired doctor but remains concerned about the affairs of the town clinic. The eldest son, Junpei, inherited his father's career but drowned 15 years ago while saving a child from drowning. The second son, Ryota (played by Hiroshi Abe), disagrees with his father and insists on becoming a painting restorer in another place. After years of hard work, he finds himself unemployed and marries Yukari (played by Yui Natsukawa), who has a child, and they support each other in continuing their lives. On the anniversary of Junpei's death, Ryota and his sister Chinami (played by YOU) return home with their families. The quiet Yokoyama household becomes lively again... This film won the Best Director and Best Supporting Actress awards (Kirin Kiki) at the 2009 Blue Ribbon Awards, the Best Supporting Actress at the 2008 Hochi Film Awards and the 2009 Eiga Shimpo, the Best Actor award (Hiroshi Abe) at the 2009 Daily Film Awards, and the Jury Grand Prix and Best Film at the 2008 Mataburata International Film Festival.
