Based on true events from World War II: 32 men and 1 woman stranded on a deserted island. The Anatahan Queen incident, also known as the "Anatahan incident" or "Anatahan Island incident." During World War II, 33 Japanese individuals—32 men and one woman, Keiko Higa—were trapped on Anatahan Island in the Northern Mariana Islands for six years, where a series of deaths occurred over the struggle for possession of two handguns and the only woman, believed to be a result of men killing each other.
