The film depicts the heroic scenes of ten pilots flying a B-17 bomber over German territory to bomb predetermined targets during World War II in 1943. This group of energetic young men has just completed their 24th mission, and one more flight will allow them to return home, a long-awaited home awaiting them. Each of them holds visions of what to do after the war. However, the harsh reality confronts them; the tension and fear that cannot be expressed weigh heavily on their hearts, and they can only silently pray for the protection of the unseen gods. To this end, they regard good luck as paramount, relying on a lucky charm, even a piece of rubber band, to ease their anxieties. After a tense and helpless wait, they finally receive the order to take off, and a formation of bombers loaded with ammunition breaks through the clouds, approaching their target. The main aircraft, Memphis Belle, is named by Dennis in honor of the girlfriend he met in Memphis. In the face of bad weather, thick clouds, and an unidentifiable target, Dennis risks his life to fly back and confirm the target, aiming to protect innocent lives and public facilities like hospitals and schools. The damaged aircraft finally returns with this group of scarred yet victorious heroes who have completed their mission.
