In a desolate future, the world resembles a vast wasteland, filled with desolation and darkness as far as the eye can see. Human civilization has been nearly destroyed in the apocalypse, and in the dire scarcity of resources, survivors resort to extreme measures, with instances of cannibalism emerging, presenting a hellish sight across the globe. A father (played by Viggo Mortensen) and his son (played by Kodi Smit-McPhee) embark on an endless journey. They travel south, seeking a warmer refuge, with a rundown shopping cart carrying all their belongings. The road ahead is long and hope is dim; the father continuously reminisces about his wife (played by Charlize Theron) and their happy times together, now lost, while the fate of the father and son's tomorrow remains uncertain... This film is adapted from the work of American novelist Cormac McCarthy.
