This film is based on a true story and tells the bloody tale of the New York Mafia's vendettas, revealing the so-called "code of the underworld" as the ugliness and greed of human nature. Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) is a good-for-nothing since childhood, following the boss Paulie, collecting protection money, smuggling, and robbing. He marries the beautiful Karen, has a lovely daughter, a charming mistress, luxury cars, and a lavish mansion, living a comfortable life. Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro) and Tommy (Joe Pesci) are Henry's good friends, and the three of them experience many things together: killing the Italian Mafia boss Billy Batts who insulted Tommy; plotting the Lufthansa heist and killing their accomplices to pocket the loot; even drug trafficking behind boss Paulie's back. Of course, their lives, aside from enjoying the power money brings, are also filled with instability: Tommy is shot dead because of Billy Batts' death; Henry himself is arrested by the police for drug trafficking, and others are implicated. Karen does everything she can to bail Henry out; by this time, they have nothing, are isolated, and face numerous dangers. They must find a way to survive, no matter how or at what cost...
