The story is inspired by the concrete corpse concealment case at the factory building on Grey Khau Street in Tsuen Wan, which shocked Hong Kong and Taiwan in 2016. The victim of the concrete concealment case is a 28-year-old man named Zhang Wanli, who was suspected to have been killed by four young people while pursuing a debt. Afterward, his body was hidden in a homemade concrete coffin. The incident occurred on April 4, 2016. Zhang, believed to have gone to the incident location to chase a tenant for the debt, went missing afterward. On April 6, Zhang's girlfriend reported him missing, and the police began handling it as a missing person case. The Missing Persons Investigation Team from the Hong Kong Island Region found through the last call records before Zhang's disappearance that he had contacted the male tenant of the incident location. They locked onto the target based on the address and checked the surveillance footage of the building, discovering that Zhang had entered the unit via the elevator with the male tenant and another man on the day he went missing; after that, he did not appear again. There were others entering and exiting the unit, and even someone brought in cement. The police attempted to contact the male tenant but to no avail. On April 29, after entering the unit, the police eventually uncovered the concrete concealment case, and the deceased was confirmed to be Zhang Wanli. After investigating the case, the police believed that the four suspects fled to Taiwan. After staying there for a month, the case garnered widespread attention in both locations and was the first case involving law enforcement and extradition regulations between the two areas since Hong Kong's return. The four young people went from committing the crime to the terror of burying the body, ultimately fleeing to Taiwan and hiding for nearly half a month. Their mindset of being half on the run and half on vacation formed the prototype of this crime film.
