Risa Onodera (played by Aoi Miyazaki) had her groom runaway on the wedding day four years ago. Now, she has calmed down and has been living with her parents. Her father, Toshizaku (played by Yutaka Matsushige), was the head of the sales department at a pastry production company but has recently been transferred to another department due to personnel changes. The new head of that department is his former subordinate, Koutarou Hinatou (played by Eita Nagayama). Her mother, Machiko (played by Keiko Matsuzaka), is a cheerful housewife who often attends flower arrangement classes taught by Akiko Kurahashi (played by Makiko Esumi). Akiko's ex-husband, Youichi Murakami (played by Naomasa Muira), is a childhood friend and senior of Toshizaku, who runs a small tavern where Toshizaku is a regular. Four years ago, Toshizaku built a duplex villa hoping to live together with his daughter and son-in-law, but now it’s just Risa, Toshizaku, and Machiko living in the villa after Risa's wedding was called off. One day, Risa says she has been proposed to and wants to bring her partner home to show Toshizaku and Machiko, only to reveal that the person she brings back is Koutarou Hinatou. A former subordinate, now her boss and prospective son-in-law... How will the relationship between Risa and Koutarou develop? Will Risa and Koutarou live under the same roof with Toshizaku and Machiko?
