The lazy and gluttonous A-ji (played by Ng Man-tat) may have the title of manager in a department of a big company, but he spends his days with nothing to do. Relying on his endless ideas, he leads a mundane life with his buddy A-jiu (played by Lam Chi Chung), who works under him. Due to the economic downturn, the company decides to lay off employees, and the method is to compete in talent. A-ji and A-jiu have no skills to showcase, and while they are worried, A-ji's uncle (played by Anthony Wong) suggests they remember their lion dance heritage and decide to perform the increasingly unpopular lion dance. However, before the two have a chance to shine, the company goes out of business. A-ji and A-jiu sit dejectedly on the street, and the large lion head attracts the attention of passersby. Spurred on by the crowd's money, the two start to dance the lion. Just as they get into it, the police arrive to intervene, leading to a heated argument that catches media attention. Unexpectedly, this sparks renewed interest in lion dancing among Hong Kong people, making A-ji and A-jiu celebrities. A-ji's sister (played by Miu Shun-yin), who is a born business person, sees profit in lion dancing and begins to get involved, drawing others in as well due to the lure of profit. Seeing all this, A-ji's uncle shakes his head and sighs.
