Long's wife was murdered by the son of a high-ranking official. The murderer escaped justice due to his connections, leaving A Long (Zheng Haonan) feeling overwhelming anger and grief. In a moment of impulse, he mistakenly kills the murderer. Realizing the gravity of his actions, A Long flees to Hong Kong with his cousin A Wen (Liang Sihui). After enduring many hardships, Long and Wen reach Hong Kong but fall into the hands of human traffickers, ultimately being exploited by gang leader A Kun as black market workers on a construction site. A Kun not only withholds their wages but also informs the police to capture them. Long and Wen manage to escape, but Wen falls to his death while A Long is injured. Injured, A Long seeks refuge with his friend A Quan (Liao Qizhi). Years ago, A Long had saved A Quan's life during the war, and A Quan's wife, A Feng (Wu Jiali), is A Long's former lover. Feeling guilty, A Quan takes A Long in. Gang leader A Hung (Huang Rihua) pressures A Quan to join in on his robbery plans. A Quan, focused on becoming a licensed doctor, refuses to take risks. However, A Hung does not let A Quan off the hook, prompting A Long to step in. A Hung admires A Long's skills and employs both hard and soft tactics to force A Long into cooperating; A Long firmly declines. A Quan is sensitive and suspicious, particularly due to A Feng's attentive care towards A Long, leading him to doubt their relationship has rekindled. To maintain their livelihood, A Feng secretly works as a dancer in a nightclub, which A Quan eventually discovers. Shocked, A Quan makes a decisive choice to join A Hung's robbery plan. Sha Zhansen, a former comrade of A Long, now works to eradicate the gang. Upon learning of A Long's connection to A Hung, he seeks A Long's help as an undercover informant for the police's robbery operation. To protect A Quan, A Long agrees to Sha Zhansen's request. Seeing the gang's growing power, A Kun aims to eliminate A Hung's group and informs the police of the robbery. The police set up a trap and successfully capture and kill A Hung and his men. Sha Zhansen, unable to warn A Long in time, leaves A Long and the others in a precarious situation. After an intense gunfight, A Hung, A Quan, and others perish, leaving only A Long to escape. A Long investigates and discovers that A Kun was behind the events. Driven by old grudges and new hatred, he vows to kill A Kun and bravely breaks into A Kun's hideout.
