Jun Shinozuka (played by Atsushi Shinohara) lost his wife several years ago in a random serial killing case. Although the killer was captured, he received a get-out-of-jail-free card due to a psychiatric evaluation report. Over the years, Jun Shinozuka worked hard, spending all his savings to hire an expensive lawyer in hopes of seeking justice for his wife, but things didn't go as planned; even the lawyer urged him to give up. In despair, Jun Shinozuka contemplated death. 　Hitomi Takahashi (played by Hitomi Jojima) lives under the same roof with her husband and mother-in-law. Her husband’s indifference and her mother-in-law’s disdain made every day a struggle of oppression and loneliness, until a cheerful man entered her life, and feelings quickly developed between them. Shioniya (played by Ryo Ikeda) is a lawyer who carefully hides his identity as a homosexual but ultimately loses his lover due to a minor misunderstanding.
