In March 1944, the world was in turmoil during World War II, and at the same time, the children in a small village corner in France began their own "war." The children from the neighboring villages of Longeville and Véhème had been in constant conflict, but this time they came up with a new idea for their "war"—the children decided to compete over the buttons, shoelaces, belts, and so on of their opponents. Whoever could strip the other naked and humiliate them would be the winner. They named this battle "The Button War." "The Button War" was merely child's play; the outcome didn't really matter. At that moment, a Jewish girl named Violette arrived in the village, captivating the "king of the children" Lebrac from Longeville. But where did the girl come from? What story lies behind her?
