The reboot of the classic children's comedy film "Home Alone," titled "Home Sweet Home Alone," has announced its release date: it will exclusively premiere on Disney streaming on November 12 of this year. The film stars the well-received young actor Archie Yates from "Jojo Rabbit," along with Ellie Kemper ("Bridesmaids," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt") and Rob Delaney ("Catastrophe"), and is not a direct remake of the original storyline, but an original story with a modified title. The production has categorized it as a "reboot of 'Home Alone'" due to the similar concept. The original "Home Alone" was released in 1990, telling the story of Macaulay Culkin's classic character, the young boy "Kevin," who is accidentally left at home by his parents and has to fend off intruding burglars on his own. This new version tells the story of a couple, played by Kemper and Delaney, who aim to steal a valuable heirloom from the Mercer family, while Yates plays the "mischievous and resourceful" boy, the child of the Mercer family, who is left home alone to protect it from the thieves while his parents are on vacation in Japan.
