The film is an adaptation of the story "Ying Ning" from Volume Two of "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio," presenting a stylish expression of classic supernatural legends. It tells the story of exorcist prince Wang Zifu (played by Huang Youtian) and Tang Wen (played by Li Xinzhe), who commission Gan Tiechui to forge a "Demon-Subduing Weapon."
