Lucia, a land surveyor and single mother, faces pressure from a boyfriend who's slightly unfaithful, a daughter who's a bit rebellious, and a job that presents moral dilemmas. One day, a mysterious foreign woman in a blue robe appears, following her everywhere, yet it seems only Lucia can see her. Initially thinking she's haunted, Lucia discovers the woman claims to be the Virgin Mary, appearing only to ask for help. It’s easy to ask for divine intervention, but hard to deal with a deity who won’t leave you alone! As Lucia tries to evade her and even begins to question her life, she can’t help but wonder if this woman is merely an illusion born from her crisis, or a miracle meant to free her weary soul. Italian comedy master Gianni Zanasi cleverly merges themes of the Virgin Mary and environmentalism, capturing magical moments in life amidst absurd humor. Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher showcases her chameleon-like acting skills, skillfully switching between nervousness, fragility, and strength. Variety praises the film as a hidden gem, combining drama, entertainment, and emotional depth, and it won the Best European Film Award at the Cannes Directors' Fortnight.
