In 1940s Romania, under fascist German rule, guerrillas and anti-fascist resistance groups continuously attacked enemy docks, stations, and bridges. The front lines were tight, yet the rulers could not find a captain to transport munitions to the front. At this time, the resistance was suffering from a lack of weapons, and underground member Toma (played by Petriașcu) infiltrated the dock's prisoner group in hopes of boarding a ship transporting munitions. Newlywed captain Mihai (played by Flaviu) was a patriotic man who despised evil, and his wife Anna (played by Giola) was beautiful and kind. Toma was selected by Mihai to be a sailor to transport munitions to the front. On the ship, they teamed up to eliminate the German soldiers escorting the munitions, navigating the terrifying mines drifting on the Danube, and delivering the weapons to the guerrillas. In battle, Mihai tragically sacrificed himself, and before dying, he grasped Toma's hand and urged, "Anna is a good girl, you must take good care of her..."
