Rumors about the "cursed videotape" run rampant; people are both curious and afraid. However, no one truly understands the background and tragic experiences of Sadako from the mountain village: Sadako (played by Yūki Nakama) is the daughter of the psychic Shizuko (played by Masako), who met a horrific end. Sadako, inheriting her mother's psychic abilities, also faces a life full of hardships. After growing up, she moves to Tokyo and struggles in a theater troupe named "Flying." Soon, the troupe's leading lady, Aiko (played by Kaoru Okunuki), mysteriously dies, and Sadako inexplicably takes her place. Due to her inherently eerie and mysterious aura, Sadako faces suspicion and alienation from the troupe members, with only the sound engineer Hiroshi (played by Seiichi Tanabe) showing kindness toward her. However, this small warmth is insufficient to save Sadako from her tragic life… This film is adapted from a story by Kōji Suzuki and is the third installment in the "Ring" series.
