Nansen West (played by Samuel L. Jackson), a drill sergeant known for his harshness at a U.S. military training base, has a notoriously tense relationship with his trainees due to his ruthlessness. Tom Hardy (played by John Travolta), a former disciple who holds a grudge against West, is now an official with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The two are brought together by a mysterious disappearance case. This bizarre incident in the jungles of Panama resulted in the vanishing of six trainee soldiers along with West after a hurricane. Hardy is tasked with investigating this case alongside military investigator Lieutenant Julia (played by Connie Nielsen). However, as the investigation unfolds, the testimonies of the last two surviving trainees, Dunbar (played by Brian Van Holt) and Kendall (played by Giovanni Ribisi), are drastically different. More lies and deceptions gradually come to light, raising the question of who is lying and what horrifying truths lie behind the story?
