Phil (played by Bill Murray) is a weather reporter who not only delivers humorous and entertaining weather forecasts in front of the camera every day but also travels to a small border town called Punxsutawney every February 2nd to cover the local Groundhog Day celebration. In fact, Phil scoffs at this holiday and begins to feel bored with his job. After completing the year's routine report, he eagerly wants to return home but is delayed by a sudden snowstorm.
