As the scope of the zombie infection continues to expand, humanity intensifies its targeted research. Researcher Sarah (played by Lori Cardille) and helicopter pilot John, among others, parachute into an underground research center converted from a mine. Here, Dr. Logan studies zombie behavior and achieves some preliminary results. The soldiers responsible for the center's security and zombie capture are already weary of the dark underground life, and facing the deaths of their comrades, isolation, and slow research progress makes them irritable. Led by Colonel Rhodes (played by Joseph Pilato), they openly rebel against the project leader. Soldier Miguel, on the verge of a mental breakdown, loses an arm due to a zombie bite, which leads to an explosive conflict between the soldiers and researchers. Rhodes shows his true colors and drives Sarah and others into the zombie-infested tunnels, while Miguel releases zombies into the center, leading to a chaotic situation where Sarah and the others fight for survival... This film won the Best Actress award at the 1985 Catalonia International Film Festival.
