The tragic experiences of his past have slowly warped the personality of the young Li Jinlun (played by Alan Tam), filling him with hatred for society. One day, by accident, he kills someone. The inspector (played by Pang Kin-shin) responsible for the case publicly declares in the newspaper that the murderer must be a mentally disabled sexual impotent, which makes Li Jinlun extremely furious. Inspector Dai Piao (played by Dong Piao) learns that Li Jinlun is the true culprit of the case and unexpectedly discovers he is a filial son, leading him to devise a scheme. Dai Piao pretends to pursue Li Jinlun's mother (played by Deng Bi-yun). Li Jinlun senses something is wrong and, worried that his mother will be used, decides to kill Dai Piao to silence him. Dai Piao fakes his death to deceive Li Jinlun, then lays a series of traps in his home, step by step leading Li Jinlun into a snare, causing Li Jinlun to mistakenly believe he has killed his beloved mother, leading to his emotional collapse and eventual capture by the law.
