Sixteen-year-old Alex (Paula Beer) has always lived in a very disharmonious family where his parents constantly argue. One day, unable to endure any longer, Alex explodes, resulting in him being sent to a teenage emergency psychiatric treatment center. In the psychiatric hospital, Alex encounters three other companions: Laura (Jella Haase), a 17-year-old girl with a very tragic past; Feja (Moritz Leu), who is extremely introverted and has experienced school violence; and Dimo (Jannis Niewöhner), who has violent tendencies.
