Wei-tung (played by Zhang Wenxuan) is a successful gay man living a happy cohabitation life with his boyfriend Simon (played by Mitchell Lichtenstein) in the United States. His troubles arise from dealing with his parents (played by Lang Hsiung and Gwei Ya-lei) in Taipei, who repeatedly pressure him to marry through various tactics. Wei-tung is forced to write a letter portraying himself as the obedient son who plans to marry in America, not realizing that his parents want to witness it in person. Reluctantly, he ropes in an unsuccessful female artist from Shanghai, Wai-wai (played by Jin Sumei), to stage a "fake marriage" to escape the situation. His parents are quite pleased with Wai-wai; however, they are dissatisfied with Wei-tung's hasty attitude. To please his parents and return to Taipei quickly, Wei-tung is like a "desperate hero," using all his resources. Yet, things don’t go as planned, and continuous setbacks push back his parents' return date time and again, which causes a "red light" in his relationship with Simon, while Wai-wai unexpectedly becomes pregnant with his child. It seems that in the face of his powerful (traditional) parents, Wei-tung can only choose to be a "seemingly normal" man.
