Chinese girl Wan Yun (played by Liu Yun) discovers her late grandaunt Wan Jingxian's (played by Wang Pei) diary after her passing. The diary recounts her grandaunt's experiences during the war in her youth, her emotions, and the story of the 800 heroic soldiers who bravely jumped into the river, which deeply moves Wan Yun. She decides to follow in her grandaunt's footsteps on a quest for the truth. Japanese man Nakmura Ichiro (played by Tenma Shibuya) was raised by his father, Old Nakmura, who suffers from dementia and is haunted by his wartime experiences. To provide his father with a peaceful old age, Nakmura Ichiro embarks on a journey to Majiayai. The two young people, of different nationalities, cultures, and experiences, meet at the same location... The monument, mass graves, revolutionary memorials, and the memories of the elderly Yang Zhenjiang (played by Li Liqiong) gradually piece together the fragments of memory, revealing a long-buried story of resistance.
