The last living eunuch of a dying China, Liu Laixi (played by Mo Shaocong), recalls his life experiences... Laixi was castrated at the age of eleven and entered the palace. During the turbulent revolutionary era, after leaving the palace, he formed a family with Zhao Di (played by Wen Bixia) and lived as a peddler. Revolutionaries Qiu Feng (played by Wu Jiali) and Hu Zhenzhong (played by Huang Rihua) attempted to assassinate a target, but Laixi accidentally saved them. The chief eunuch, Xiao Dezhang (played by Luo Wen), admired Laixi's Peking opera skills and forced him to return to the palace. To avoid implicating Zhao Di, Laixi had to send mother and son to Guangzhou and committed suicide by jumping into the river, but unexpectedly was saved by Qiu Feng and Hu Zhenzhong. The revolutionaries opposed the establishment of Manchukuo and planned to steal the Qing dynasty jade seal collected by Zhang Zuolin (played by Zheng Zeshi). Because Laixi had seen the jade seal, Qiu Feng invited him to join the revolution. Hu Zhenzhong and Laixi infiltrated Zhang Zuolin's mansion as undercover agents, but things went awry, and Laixi was married off as a concubine to the debauched Zhang Zuolin. On the night of the wedding, Hu Zhenzhong, who escaped first, led the revolutionaries to storm the mansion in hopes of rescuing Laixi...
