After experiencing the death of a friend and a tragic, terrifying past, Cindy Campbell (played by Anna Faris) is determined to start a new life. She gets hired to take care of a disabled elderly woman in a haunted house, and clumsy Cindy's well-meaning actions lead to disaster for the woman. The haunted house is not just a name; a boy, killed unjustly, appears occasionally, hoping Cindy can help him find his true murderer. Next door lives Tom Ryan (played by Craig Bierko), a failed father spending the weekend with his two children. After some back-and-forth conversations, Tom falls in love with Cindy. Just then, terrifying aliens invade Earth, intending to eradicate humanity. How will Cindy and Tom escape?
