Based on the novel of the same name by Norman Lebrecht, it tells the story of two boys, Martin and Dovidl, who become inseparable friends during World War II in London. Dovidl is a violinist who has fled from Warsaw and is staying at Martin's home. However, on the night of Dovidl's debut violin recital, he mysteriously disappears, an event that haunts Martin for decades.
